At Fordingbridge Infant School we want all children to feel safe, secure and valued. To ensure a positive transition into school the following activities will take place in the run up to starting school. The school has an open door policy which means you can discuss any aspect of school life at any time. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.
Fordingbridge Infant School staff visit Pre-School settings
A member of the school early years team will visit each Pre-School setting to begin to gather information about your child.
Parents’ Induction Meeting
During this meeting you will:
find out more about the school and meet key members of school staff
be given some advice on what you can do to prepare your child for school
collect an Induction Pack
make a home visit appointment for September (please bring your diary)
visit your child’s classroom
be able to ask any specific questions you may have
Pupils’ Visits to the School
There will be various opportunities for your child to visit the school. This will be with their pre-school group, with you at story time and once on their own.
In September, a member of the school early years team will come and visit you at home. The purpose of this visit is to gather any additional information and to familiarise your child with the school staff in a familiar environment.
Every child is an individual and we hope to liaise with you to ensure the very best start to your child’s education at Fordingbridge Infant School. Where appropriate, personalised induction arrangements can be discussed.
